SBC Resolutions

A resolution has traditionally been defined as an expression of opinion or concern, as compared to a motion, which calls for action. A resolution is not used to direct an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention to specific action other than to communicate the opinion or concern expressed. Resolutions are passed during the annual Convention meeting.

How to Submit a Resolution
SBC Bylaw 20 now states that resolutions must be submitted in advance, and that certain contact information also be supplied for both the submitter and his or her church. Click here for further information.

Search past SBC Resolutions
Search SBC Resolutions dating back from 1845 to the present. You can also search by topic or keywords.

Online Resolution Submittal Form
An online form has been provided for your convenience. However, all electronic submissions must be followed up by a letter of credentials from your church. Such letter must be received on or before 15 days prior to the Annual Meeting. Click here to submit resolutions online.
