WHEREAS, The present condition of the world creates a greater need for the Bible than ever in history, and
WHEREAS, Most of the world must depend upon the great Bible Societies for its supply of Scriptures, and
WHEREAS, The British and Foreign Bible Society, which shares with the American Bible Society the responsibility for supplying our missionaries in foreign lands with Scriptures in many languages, is seriously handicapped because of the war, and the American Bible Society is undertaking to expand its service to meet the emergency, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we urge our churches either on Universal Bible Sunday, December 8, or on some other convenient date, to make a special offering of not less than five dollars ($5.00) toward the Emergency Fund of the American Bible Society.
