IMB missionaries Wang and Hyeonah Lee followed God’s call to South America, specifically São Paulo, Brazil, with their three children.
Hyeonah recalls her first experience sharing the gospel. Although terrified, she obediently participated in her church’s door-to-door evangelism in South Korea. “When we knocked on the door, they made me talk,” she shared, still sounding surprised. Though the couple they spoke to didn’t accept Christ, the experience sparked a change within her.
After moving to the U.S. to study piano, a short-term mission trip confirmed her calling. Similarly, her husband, Wang, had a transformative mission trip where he realized the global need for theological education. He wrestled with Matthew 16:24, asking, “What is my cross?” Eventually, Wang understood that denying himself meant leaving the comfort of the U.S. and going to the lost.
Having lived cross-culturally before, the couple, both from South Korea, felt prepared for this new mission. However, Brazil presents a new challenge.
When our church gives through the Cooperative Program (CP), we support Wang and Hyeonah Lee and other IMB missionaries as they boldly take the gospel to the nations.
Pray that the Lee family would remain steadfast in their calling, ensuring they fulfill their mission without being shaken.
