Nawid & Freshta Aziz

Anahita and her family fled their homeland in Central Asia, enduring a four-year journey marked by trauma—including the loss of a baby—before reaching Western Europe. Battling depression, Anahita found comfort in a women’s ministry led by IMB missionary Freshta Aziz.

Freshta and her husband, Nawid, minister to refugees who share their Central Asian heritage and language. Many cannot attend local fellowships due to language barriers, so the Azizes provide theology training, discipleship, and community in the refugees’ heart language.

Through this ministry, Anahita began attending church. Her husband joined her—and has since trusted Christ. Now, the Azizes continue praying Anahita will follow.

The Azizes are known as “one of us” by those they serve—offering hope, healing, and the gospel to the displaced.

Through the Cooperative Program, Southern Baptists support missionaries like the Azizes as they minister to refugees with compassion and truth.

Pray for Anahita to trust in Jesus, for her husband to grow in faith, and for many to believe through upcoming summer camps.
