Canada is our neighbor to the north – and a mission field.
Today we want to pray for one of our missionary couples serving in
Edmonton, a city in western Canada – one of the most northern cities
of its size in North America.
Our missionaries, Nate and Deen Vedoya, planted a new church in
Edmonton in 2015. They call it Church in the Valley. Our church supports
them and the church through our Cooperative Program giving.
Edmonton has about a million people but few churches. Hundreds more
churches are needed.
Nate and Deen both have full-time jobs in Edmonton and so do members
of the planting team. That lets the church put more of its budget into
outreach instead of staff salaries. That helps them reach inner-city
Edmonton, where many people are poor.
This shows how much they want to reach their city for Jesus Christ.
They’ve committed to do whatever it takes for the people of Edmonton
to hear the gospel.
Let’s pray that God would call many more missionaries to plant new
churches across Canada and in cities like Edmonton.
And let’s thank Him now for calling Nate and Deen to Edmonton.
