Seven-year-old Shawn Podge can talk about life in Korea—and the gospel—in both English and Korean. He’s learning from his parents, IMB missionaries Matt and Evelyn Podge, what it means to live among the lost for the sake of Christ.
In Seoul, the Podges are building gospel-centered relationships with other families. Since locals rarely host guests, they’ve designed their apartment as a welcoming space. On Mondays, Matt leads Bible lessons for kids while mothers gather. A Korean-language church plant also meets in their home on Sundays.
The Podges engage their community through outreach events like the International Fireworks Festival, where they distribute snacks and gospel materials. Shawn and his younger sister, Corbin, are key helpers—drawing others with their kindness and enthusiasm.
Through the Cooperative Program and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Southern Baptists help send missionary families like the Podges to share the gospel.
Pray that God will use the Podge family to lead many in Korea to know Christ.
