Kendrick Neal serves as a police chaplain in Clovis, California, and as a chaplain for California Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, coming alongside people during some of the hardest and most vulnerable moments of their lives. As a police chaplain, he offers moral support, spiritual guidance and practical assistance to officers, department personnel, their families and community members facing crisis, grief or difficult circumstances. Whether serving in law enforcement or disaster relief, Kendrick listens carefully, offers prayer and encouragement, and points people toward the hope found in Jesus Christ. In disaster settings, he ministers to people facing loss, trauma and uncertainty after fires, floods and other crises, work that requires training in trauma care, crisis intervention and operational stress management. At the heart of it all, Kendrick says, is showing Christ’s love through presence, compassion and care in the middle of people’s most painful moments, whatever form that crisis takes.
Pray for Kendrick as he serves people during painful and uncertain moments, and ask God to give him wisdom, compassion and strength.
Southern Baptists’ generous giving through the Cooperative Program sends and sustains missionaries like Kendrick and Melissa Neal to bring the hope of Christ to officers, families and disaster survivors.
