Today we are going to ask God to bring joy and peace to a very sad
area in Africa.

The horrible war in South Sudan has gone on for years.

It’s estimated that a million and a half people – made up of more than
50 people groups – have fled across the border into northern Uganda.
There’s one huge refugee camp there that covers 100 square miles.

Refugees have been killed or tortured on the way. Women especially have
suffered. So, here in northern Uganda, the gospel is needed. That’s why
we sent Jeremy and Susan Taliaferro to minister among these refugees.

For nine years they have witnessed of Christ’s love, discipled new believers
and planted new churches.

Can we pray today for Jeremy and Susan, two more of our brave
missionaries we support through the Cooperative Program?

Let’s pray that the Lord will protect them as they serve in this dangerous
place. Let’s pray that many refugees can find the true peace that comes
only from knowing Christ. Let’s pray that, one day when the wars subside,
that the refugees who are becoming Christians will carry the gospel far
and wide across Africa.
