Jay & Ella Janill

Jay and Ella Janill, IMB missionaries in northern Africa, serve in a region marked by violence and unrest, yet see God drawing people to Himself.

Jay recalls a trek with Timothy, a mountain guide. As they looked over the valley, Jay noted the village fires below, saying, “Each of those fires represents a family or group who probably haven’t heard the good news.” Together, they read Psalm 19, reflecting on how people know of God through creation but need to hear of His love through Jesus.

Timothy, inspired by their conversation, shared the gospel with his friends, including Abel, who had already heard the message. That night, around the fire, Timothy boldly shared God’s story of redemption from creation to Christ, and the guards professed faith in Jesus.

Now, Timothy and Abel continue sharing the gospel. For every one like Abel who believes, many others in their neighborhood still lack access to the truth and the gospel.

When we give through the Cooperative Program, our church supports the work of Jay and Ella Janill through the International Mission Board.

Let’s pray today that God would continue to open doors and hearts as the Janill family faithfully shares the gospel with Northern African and Middle Eastern Peoples.
