For three years, IMB missionaries Jane Thompson and Kimberly Windham have faithfully served in a women’s prison in Lusaka, Zambia. They prayed for local believers to join them in sharing the gospel—and you prayed too.
God answered by sending not one, but three Zambian believers: Charity, Florence, and Ivey.
Their hearts broke when they heard of the women inside who felt forgotten and unloved. “These women often feel that no one loves them,” Ivey said. “But they are not outcasts. God loves them. How will they know this if we do not go?”
Now, the team visits the prison weekly, partnering with the chaplain to bring hope in Christ. Florence says, “Even when they are incarcerated, they can have freedom in Jesus—and some are responding.”
Through the Cooperative Program, Southern Baptists help support ministries that bring the gospel to the overlooked.
Pray for more Zambian believers to join this ministry and for many prisoners to find freedom in Christ.
