The Lord called David Brown, and his wife, Shannon, to retire to Moldova to serve alongside IMB missionaries Ryan and Jenni Meredith. “I wanted to retire to something, not from something,” David said. The Browns and the Merediths are the first IMB presence Moldova has had in many years.
The team has a three-part ministry focus. The first ministry focus is to expand the disciple-making efforts in the Hincesti district of Moldova. The goal is to reach many others for Christ and eventually plant new churches where none exist today. The second ministry focus partners the Browns with a local pastor in the Orhei region to reach the population of 50,000 with the gospel. And the third ministry focus is building relationships with University Divitia Gratiae, a Baptist seminary in Chisinau. The seminary helps send missionaries to Central Asia.
David and Shannon’s days are full, but so are their hearts. Their retirement looks different from the average American’s—and that’s just what they wanted.
The Cooperative Program (CP) takes the Gospel to the nations and the neighborhoods. Your financial support through the Cooperative Program gives missionaries the resources they need to minister in many ways and inspire local believers to do the same.
Pray that God would show up in big ways and revive what has become stagnant in Moldova.
