Technology has transformed missions work since Dave and Amy Knotts posted their first social media ad seven years ago. The IMB missionaries laugh now at its simplicity—a black screen with white text asking, “Do you want to read the Bible in your language?”
Though basic, the ad was highly effective, leading to 2,500 downloads of language-specific Scripture within 24 hours. This success prompted the Knotts to dive deeper into digital engagement strategies to reach some of the least reached people in Central Asia.
“With digital engagement, we can reach places we can’t normally go,” Dave explained. Many unengaged, unreached people groups live in isolated areas or countries where Christianity is banned. Yet social media and digital platforms can penetrate even these restricted areas.
As they continue adapting to new technology, the Knotts ask for prayer for their latest project, which focuses on creating effective content for women in Central Asia.
When we give through the Cooperative Program, we help missionaries like Dave and Amy penetrate the darkness of Central Asia through the use of technology.
Pray that God would continue to use technology to help Dave and Amy reach the people of Central Asia.
