Austin and Amy Mathis moved back to their hometown to plant Grace Church in 2021.
Grace Church began in the couple’s living room. The church kept drawing new people, quickly outgrowing their living room and moving to a nearby elementary school. In 2022, they acquired a retail space in a strip mall.
Wanting to make sure they set up their new church plant for long-term success, Austin and Amy looked for ways to make the best use of their new building. Austin consulted with local finance and business experts to help set up Co:Mission Collaborative, a for-profit coworking space owned by and for the financial benefit of Grace Church. During the week, Grace Church turns into an office space for businesses and individuals in the community.
Not only does the arrangement help fund the operational costs of the church, but it gives them a strategic way to engage their neighbors with the good news about Jesus.
As our church gives regularly to the Cooperative Program, we provide much-needed resources to train and encourage missionaries like Austin in their church planting efforts.
Pray that God will continue to use Grace Church to multiply disciples in their community.
