WHEREAS, LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center has played a vital role in Southern Baptist life and in the lives of countless other Christians; and
WHEREAS, Thousands of pastors, missionaries, and church staff members have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and/or to vocational ministry while at Ridgecrest; and
WHEREAS, Millions of youth, laypeople, pastors, and church leaders have been trained in leadership, discipleship, Sunday school, music, and other facets of ministry; and
WHEREAS, Married couples, singles, and families have been ministered to through numerous enrichment events; and
WHEREAS, Hundreds of thousands of young lives have been influenced for Christ by attending summer youth camps and other special youth and student events; and
WHEREAS, Ridgecrest is being revitalized to renew its commitment to minister effectively in the twenty-first century; and
WHEREAS, In 2007, Ridgecrest will observe its one hundredth anniversary; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Greensboro, North Carolina, June 13-14, 2006, give thanks, honor, and glory to God for all He has done through the ministry of LifeWay Ridgecrest Conference Center; and be it further
RESOLVED, That we express support for the continued mission and ministry of Ridgecrest during its next one hundred years; and be it finally
RESOLVED, That we encourage Southern Baptists to join in celebrating this milestone by visiting Ridgecrest in 2007.
