Resolution On Presidents Tenure


RESOLVED, That it is sense of this Convention that, except under extraordinary conditions, its interests can be best served by not more than two terms of the same president.

RESOLUTION ON CONVENTION OFFICERS

Dear Sirs:

The Pastors Conference of the St. John’s River Baptist Association of Florida meeting in regular session Monday, May 7, 1951 adopted the following resolution:

WHEREAS, in these times of stress, strain, and uncertainty the people of our nation being in great need of strong, courageous, and faithful moral and spiritual leadership, and

WHEREAS, The Southern Baptist Convention is projecting a program to tell the world that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is the answer for every need, and

WHEREAS, The officers of this Convention, the executive officers and members of the boards, commissions, committees, and other agencies have faithfully and diligently upheld the Lord Christ and his Word in fulfilling the responsibilities placed upon them by the Convention.

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, That this Convention by rising vote express to these elected officers our appreciation for their tireless efforts and that we further covenant together to earnestly pray for them and cooperate with them as we labor together to win this world for Christ.
