Resolution On Labor

Industrial Relations

We recommend that our colleges and universities be urged to organize courses for study dealing with the history and development of the labor movement as well as the whole area of management-labor relations. We further recommend that labor unions themselves develop procedures to eliminate jurisdictional disputes.

We recommend the establishment by the government of an impartial fact finding agency, the function of which would be to investigate and publicize all pertinent facts in management-labor disputes which result in tie-ups and strikes.

We further recommend that churches in industrial communities be urged to create opportunities for the leaders of both management and labor to meet in an atmosphere of Christian ideals and therein to seek an understanding of their mutual problems.
