WHEREAS, We have been commanded by Jesus to witness to all people, specifically to people in prison (Matthew 25:36) and that Christ Himself set forth our example, and
WHEREAS, Experience has proven conclusively that man’s efforts at rehabilitation have failed miserably, and
WHEREAS, The only true and lasting solution to our corrections problems is regeneration of the individual through Jesus Christ, and
WHEREAS, The families of prisoners, as well as prisoners themselves, have acute spiritual and social needs, both during the period of incarceration and in the re-entry process.
THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED, That we encourage our churches and associations to plan and to implement programs designed to meet the spiritual needs of prisoners and their families and to seek ways to become involved in the re-entry process.
