Resolution On Involvement Of Blacks And Other Minorities In Southern Baptist Convention Life


WHEREAS, Blacks and other minorities have been an integral part of the Southern Baptist Convention since its organization in 1845; and

WHEREAS, The Southern Baptist Convention is a multi-racial and multi-cultural convention which allows its members to express themselves out of their ethnic-cultural heritage; and

WHEREAS, The Southern Baptist Convention finds commonality through Baptist doctrine, polity, and its sense of mission.

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, That we, the messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention, meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, June 10-12, 1986, encourage its agencies and committees to increase the involvement of blacks and other minorities in employment, missions, and programs.
