WHEREAS, We are called to effective ministry and clear witness in America’s cities; and
WHEREAS, These urban centers are racially and ethnically diverse, with specific needs and challenges; and
WHEREAS, These cities are in desperate need of innovative strategies to fulfill the Great Commission.
Therefore, Be it RESOLVED, That we, the messengers to the 135th session of the Southern Baptist Convention, recognize our responsibility to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to all peoples within the cities, to affirm ministries which reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of America’s urban centers, to include ethnic leadership in the development of mission and ministry strategies, and to pray without ceasing that God would heal our cities and begin a genuine revival that will spread throughout our land.
