Resolution On Evangelism


WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that our Brother, Dr. M. E. Dodd, pastor of First Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana, has been invited by the Baptist Union of Australia to direct an Evangelistic Crusade in that country in the Autumn of 1946 and

WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. Dodd will soon leave the homeland for this responsible assignment, and also to tour and render evangelistic service in New Zealand, South Africa and other points and

WHEREAS, Dr. Dodd’s long ministry among Southern Baptists has been so signally blessed in the field of Evangelism and in many other places of Denominational leadership and

WHEREAS, We rejoice always in every opportunity to see the Kingdom of our Lord and Christ advanced and

WHEREAS, Dr. Dodd has so recently rendered such fruitful service in the field of Evangelism, as director of the Centennial Evangelistic Crusade of 1945.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Southern Baptist Convention in annual session in Miami, Florida, this 15th day of May, 1946, that we most heartily and prayerfully commend our Brother, Dr. M. E. Dodd, and his faithful companion, to our Baptist friends of Australia and other countries, and that we assure him, and them, that our prayers shall attend his evangelistic ministry. And we express the hope that great spiritual blessings may come to the Christian forces of the countries to be visited by Dr. and Mrs. Dodd and that many souls may accept the Salvation of our Lord and Christ.
