WHEREAS, Dr. Rushbrooke of London, England, has brought to us a great message from our Baptist brethren across the seas showing the great need in the lands of Europe for Baptist doctrine, practice and service; We, members of the Southern Baptist Convention now assembled in the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, express our great joy and appreciation of our brother’s visit and hereby pledge our heartiest cooperation, through our boards, with the Baptists of Great Britain in the great work for which Dr. Rushbrooke has so well spoken; And we further record ourselves as recognizing in his great speech a Call, clear and strong, to the English speaking peoples, the wide world over, to stand together, one in heart, prayer and labor for the good of all mankind.
