WHEREAS, The custom in this body during recent years has been to elect its presidents three years in succession; and
WHEREAS, Those who have served us in this high office have placed us under lasting obligations for their fairness, fraternity and efficiency; especially the one who is entering upon his third term now; and
WHEREAS, The office of president is a position of high honor and responsibility, rather than one of continuing administrative obligation; and
WHEREAS, There are many brethren within the wide domains of this Convention who are well qualified to fill this high office and whom we would delight to honor with same; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That hereafter two years in the presidential chair shall be considered the usual term of service and the election of any brother for one term only shall be considered no reflection upon his ability and no diminution of our affection for him personally.
