Resolution On Christian Social Concerns

WHEREAS, The conflict this body, together with the Christian world, have waged upon the whiskey traffic, so specifically and successfully has broadened in its scope to include other such serious wrongs as the white slave traffic, and child labor, as promoted by Mr. John Rockefeller; therefore,

RESOLVED, That without lessening our zeal in the matter of temperance, we broaden the scope of our endeavors by the appointment to deal with other such wrongs which curse society today, and call loudly for our help.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, That there be appointed a standing committee upon Social Service, which committee shall report from year to year upon such other matters as should come before this body for discussion and action, to be called the Social Service Commission; and it be composed of seven members.
