Resolution On Appreciation For Convention Officers

The Bible says, “Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men.” In this spirit the officers of our Convention have served during the past year. We extend to them our deep gratitude and sincere appreciation for sacrificial and fruitful service in the areas of responsibility given to them.

President Wayne Dehoney has given himself untiringly to the multitude of responsibilities and activities accompanying his office and has exercised unusual wisdom and dynamic leadership in the discharge of these obligations and opportunities. The Convention desires to convey both to him and to his faithful church our most sincere gratitude for their willingness to share so freely of time, strength and talent.

Our vice presidents, Roy D. Gresham and Gregory Walcott, have at all times stood ready to assist the president in any way possible and to further the work of the Convention and its agencies.

Our secretaries, Joe W. Burton and W. Fred Kendall, and our treasurer, Porter Routh, have wrought efficiently in the responsibilities falling to them. The Convention recognizes with sincere appreciation the fact that this year terminates nineteen years of effective secretarial service upon the part of Joe W. Burton.

To all of them, we wish to say simply, but wholeheartedly, “We are grateful to you for a job well done in the service of our Lord.”
