Resolution Of Appreciation

It is with exceptional joy that we voice our appreciation to the people of Atlanta, and the Baptists in particular, for the most gracious courtesies they have extended this Convention.

Under the chairmanship of Dr. Louie D. Newton of the General Committee and all who were associated with him, the Convention has been cordially, carefully, comfortably and completely cared for. Under the limitations no other such committee has faced in modern times, this Committee has so carefully and minutely planned its work as to entertain the Convention not only to the comfort but also to the delight and complete satisfaction of one and all. There is but one Louie Newton as there is but one Atlanta, Georgia.

We are grateful to the Chamber of Commerce and all the city organizations and institutions of Atlanta and the State of Georgia. Not only have they opened their gates to us, but they have opened their hearts to us. In their hearts we have found warmth, hospitality and happy fellowship. We are better men and women because of their distinct welcome and marked cordiality and hospitality.

We voice our profound appreciation to the newspaper and News Agencies for the liberal, broad publicity they have given the Convention. The coverage of the proceedings of the Convention in the daily columns of the papers has been liberal and exceptionally satisfactory. The services of the Radios and commentators have rendered Southern Baptists a great and much appreciated service.

We further make special note of the efficient service of the hotels and eating places of the city for their efficient care, in the face of multiplied difficulties. They have proved themselves competent and willing to care for a great Convention in this strategic hour when all such facilities are regularly crowded and taxed.
