Resolution Of Appreciation

Your Committee on Resolutions wishes to go on record as expressing the deliberate judgment that the 1931 session of the Southern Baptist Convention in the city of Birmingham, Alabama, has been one of the most helpful, constructive and inspiring held in recent years.

Therefore, we make our grateful acknowledgments to Almighty God, the author of all good and the giver of all perfect gifts. We also desire to offer our most sincere thanks to all who have planned for our coming, welcomed us to this beautiful city, contributed to our comfort and safety, served us in many ways and made us glad that we came. Included among those to whom we are thus deeply indebted are Mr. James J. Jones, Jr., President of the City Commission; Mr. Charles Teaton, Superintendent of the City Auditorium, the Chamber of Commerce and its Convention Secretary, Mr. T. Jeff Bailey; Dr. J. R. Hobbs, General Chairman of the local Committee, all of his Committee associates, the Baptist people of Birmingham and environs, the citizenship generally, Howard College and the Baptist Hospital, the hotels, the police, the newspapers, the Age-Herald, the Birmingham News, the Post, and the Associated Press, the railroads, and many others.

Those who attended this Convention will want to come again to this great industrial center of the South, which knows how to entertain with true Southern hospitality.
