Be it RESOLVED, That we express our appreciation to the Baptist churches and the Baptist people of Detroit, also to the entire State of Michigan and the Great Lakes Area, for the warmth of their welcome, for the work which they are doing here, and for the promise of the future.
That we reaffirm our intention as a denomination to give our best prayer, thought, and financial resources to the giving of an effective witness in the areas where our work is new, in the great urban communities of the West, the North, and the East; and that we strongly urge our boards and agencies to explore new ways of strengthening existing work and beginning new work in these areas where the majority of America lives.
