WHEREAS, The national organization of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes is dedicated to “a program to confront athletes–and through them the youth of the nation–with the challenge and adventure of following Christ in the fellowship of the church,” and
WHEREAS, During the past twelve years this organization has faithfully pursued this purpose, and
WHEREAS, We recognize its unlimited Christian influence in high school, college, and professional athletes,
Therefore, Be It RESOLVED:
1. That we commend the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for its effective Christian witness and for its encouragement to young athletes to actively participate in the churches;
2. That we express our appreciation to the coaches and players who are utilizing their unique opportunities and influence in testimony for Christ; and
3. That we hereby record our appreciation and encouragement for this vital Christian witness to the young of America.
