The question of the status of Religious Workers other than regularly ordained or licensed ministers of Baptist churches having been brought to the attention of the Southern Baptist Convention and referred to this special committee, we recommend the adoption of the following statement:
In our opinion we, as a Convention, have no authority to determine for any governmental agency the official religious status of a Baptist. This authority is vested solely in the congregation of a local Baptist church.
