Life in Turkmenistan causes many to feel hopeless and restless. Political and social stressors play a role, but a lack of basic necessities is the driving force. To find a way to support their families, Turkmen will move to places outside of Turkmenistan. Some who move abroad are able hear the Gospel for the first time.

“People are coming to faith,” says Anthony Bingham*, an IMB worker in Central Asia. “But coming to faith means you are signing up for a rougher life.” Persecution is rampant in Turkmenistan and people who identify themselves as believers in Jesus risk losing jobs, being rejected by family, and facing harassment and beatings by police.

THE COOPERATIVE PROGRAM (CP) is the financial fuel for reaching every person for Jesus Christ in every town, every city, every state, and every nation. Your support of both CP and THE LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING places missionaries in strategic locations around the world to share the Gospel with not only locals, but also guests in those places.

Pray for IMB workers in Central Asia to have opportunities to share the Gospel with Turkmen and that those living abroad will hear the Gospel and return home to build strong families and churches.
