There is a general expectation that this Commission will make some recommendation concerning the issue of civil rights. We have no recommendation beyond the unanimous action of this Convention in St. Louis one year ago. In that action, apart from all political considerations, the Convention expressed itself in terms of the fundamental principles of our Baptist faith. We therefore recommend that the Convention reaffirm the statement of those principles.
