Jefferson & Carol Hernández

The Hernandez family are our missionaries in Sterling, Virginia, where they planted White Fields Church.

Inspired by the words of Jesus in John 4, the name reflects the church’s mission to reach the many Hispanic immigrants moving to the community of Sterling, a place Jefferson now calls “White Fields.” The name fits the Loudon County community perfectly. In recent years, it has become a popular landing spot for immigrants from Latin America.

Jefferson and Carol began the church by walking the streets of their neighborhood, sharing the gospel, and praying with the people they met. This led to Bible studies and eventually the formation of Iglesia Bíblica Campo Blanco.

Today, the church fills up the fellowship hall of a local sister church, with 70 percent of attendees meeting Christ through the church plant. They have plans to start a second church to reach the Hispanic population in a nearby Northern Virginia community.

When we give through the Cooperative Program our church supports the work of missionaries like Jefferson and Carol as they share the gospel with Latin American immigrants coming to Loudon County.

Pray that the “white fields” in their community will continue to be fruitful.
