DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to welcome all incoming new students of Midwestern Seminary and Spurgeon College to campus with a free dinner and concert! \nOn Friday evening (August 16th)\, new students are required to attend the New Student Dinner at 5:15 PM. NSD provides students and their families with an opportunity to connect with other students\, meet faculty and staff members\, hear from Dr. Allen\, and eat some of Kansas City’s best BBQ. You can register for the event below. To submit an exemption request\, please click here. Students who register for the dinner will receive a free ticket to the Jimmy Needham concert\, which begins at 7 PM. Prior to the dinner\, students will have an opportunity to take care of any unfinished business before the semester begins. The following offices will be open from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and will expecting students: IT\, Security\, Registrar\, Financial Services\, and Housing. The dinner will begin after the “business portion” of NSD. The attire for the dinner is business casual (men: slacks and button up shirt\, blazer optional; women: dress or slacks and nice blouse). \nAfter the dinner\, new students and their guests will be escorted to a reserved section of the chapel to enjoy the Jimmy Needham concert at 7 PM. As the students enter the chapel\, the current student body and faculty/staff will welcome them into the seminary community.
