Resolution On Ku Klux Klan
June 1982


WHEREAS, The Ku Klux Klan is an organization that promotes human hatred, and

WHEREAS, The Bible teaches that within the Christian family there is no racial distinction, and

WHEREAS, The gospel of Jesus Christ is to be proclaimed to all people everywhere, no matter the color of their skin.

Therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Southern Baptist Convention in its 125th session, meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, go on record as strongly opposing the activities of the Ku Klux Klan and specifically their most recent attempts at membership recruitment and racial terrorism.
