Lead and supervise worship services under the leadership of the Senior Pastor and in congruence with the sermon.
Choose music with a blend of new hymns, traditional hymns, and contemporary songs to prepare the hearts of the congregation for worship utilizing music selections that are biblical, theologically robust, and Christ-exalting during Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.
Engage the congregation and encourage participation through music leading to worship during each service.
Lead and direct the church choir and select pieces for all services, special programs, and events.
Cultivate, train, mentor, equip, and encourage choir members and church members who have a passion to serve the Lord through music.
Guide the technical team in using audio/video tools, media, and modern presentation tools, including but not limited to Social Media tools for worship and outreach.
Engage in general member care, faithful biblical teaching, and pastoral shepherding.


Meets the qualifications for a pastor set out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3.
Loves God’s word, sound doctrine, and is persistently seeking to apply God’s word to his life.
Models a life of godliness and worship.
Unmistakably called by God to lead music in a local church.
Skilled musically and has strong vocal ability with a heart of humility and service.
Possesses leadership skills and is an experienced worship leader with a pastoral heart.
Committed to excellence, not only musically, but also in shepherding people.
Demonstrated proficient experience leading music in a church setting - a plus if he has earned or is pursuing a degree in music ministry or a related ministerial degree from an accredited college or seminary.
Willing to affirm, believe, and support the vision of Haven Baptist Church and will work as a member of the body to grow HBC and further God’s kingdom.
