The Children’s Ministry Director is the leader in reaching, developing, and raising up the next generation of Christ followers to fulfill the mission God has given MSBC. In consultation with the Senior Pastor, the Children’s Ministry Director has the responsibility to provide direction, safety, strategy, and management for the ministry team for children from infants through Grade 5.
o Provide leadership and direction to the Children’s Ministry at MSBC.
o Oversee Children’s Ministry activities including any churchwide events.
o Work in partnership with the Church leadership to create a culture of disciple making according to the MSBC ministry model.
o Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers.
o Create an evangelistic culture in the Children’s Ministry.
o Provide genuine love and support to children and their families.
o Develop a clear and effective communication process for relaying information to families.
o Utilize social media and other tools responsibly.
o Oversee the stewardship and management of the yearly designated Children’s Ministry budget.
o Create and implement a safety policy for the Children’s Ministry which includes but is not limited to volunteer screenings, check-in and check-out systems, photography policies and facility safety precautions.
o Implement and oversee curriculum planning and development for infants through Grade 5 that is age appropriate and effective
o Manage inventory, supplies, and other needs within the ministry area.
o Any other duties as assigned by Senior Pastor.
o Have a track record of spiritual maturity and character consistent with Scripture.
o Have a passion to reach and disciple all children.
o Have experience in leading and participating in children’s ministry.
o Be a relational leader who values having fun while working on a team.
o Be a self-motivated leader committed to empowering others.
o Be able to communicate and convey biblical truth in an age appropriate manner.
o Have the ability to recruit, train, and lead a team while communicating a clear vision to volunteers.
o Agree with and embrace the culture, vision, and mission of MSBC.
o Have the ability to supervise and work with different personalities.
o Possess a high level of emotional intelligence.
o Someone who loves all people, and will be an inviting, friendly member of our faith family.
o Someone flexible who can think creatively and outside of the box with a solution mentality.
