The Church at LifePark, located in Mt. Pleasant, SC, is seeking a full-time Associate Worship Leader (AWL) to lead the congregation in corporate worship in one of our two campus venues through music, invitation and prayer. The AWL will report to the Associate Pastor of Worship (APW) and will work to support the growth and development of the worship ministry.
The AWL will assist in planning weekly experiences that support the central message of the service, while leading the congregation weekly in corporate worship through music, invitation, and prayer at one of our two venues. The primary goal during these worship times will be to lead the congregation into an undeniable experience with God, inviting and teaching people to experience His presence, and fostering a heart of worship in our congregation that is in alignment with scripture and the church’s philosophy of worship. The AWL will work with the APW to develop and position other team members to do so as well.
The mix of leadership, musical, and creative gifts are vital for this role. The Associate Worship Leader will help the APW develop systems that support the vision of the APW. This will entail assisting in programming services, recruiting, training, and equipping team members and lay leaders; delegating responsibilities to team members for meeting ministry objectives; overseeing music for special events when necessary; providing worship/music support for other ministry areas as needed in accordance with giftedness.
In addition, the Associate Worship Leader is responsible for helping set the spiritual tone for the worship team, leading in authenticity, humility and excellence.
The Associate Worship Leader is responsible for:
A. Assisting with Strategic Planning Support and Implementation: Work with the APW to implement the vision and strategic initiatives of the worship ministry within the realm of LifePark’s philosophy of worship.
B. Implementing Excellent Worship Experiences and Special Programs: Work with the APW to program and prepare excellent Sunday morning experiences, in partnership with the Senior Pastor and Creative Team, which invites the congregation to engage in worship. This entails leading worship weekly in one of LifePark’s Sunday morning venues while also focusing on the development of the musical aspects of LifePark’s worship ministry to include: providing band direction, assisting with song selection, and helping lead rehearsals.
C. Overseeing and Empowering Teams: Recruit, train, develop and empower dynamic team members; assist in leading prospective vocalists and musicians through the audition process including the onboarding of new vocalists and band members.
D. Communication and Scheduling: Communicate important information to APW, band members, and volunteers in a professional and timely manner; schedule musicians and technicians for all services and special programs across two venues.
E. Next Gen Worship Development: Work with the APW to develop and lead in the development of the worship ministry in our Next Generation ministry areas. This includes working with volunteer teams, students and children to implement the philosophy of worship across different age groups in various next gen ministry areas.
F. Additional Responsibilities: Collaborate with APW on other ministry plans as needed and support worship needs in other ministry areas such as First Wave Student Ministry, Vacation Bible School, and church-wide conferences and events, etc.
The Associate Worship Leader reports to the Associate Pastor of Worship at The Church at LifePark. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
Anticipated Time Commitments:
• 40 hours per week
• Must be willing to work some evenings, holidays, and Sunday mornings

Education and Skill Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years experience in a related field preferred
• Strong front-of-house presence and leadership (musically, vocally, and verbally)
• Vocal Excellence
• Leading worship from an instrument is desired but not required
• Demonstrated ability to manage and effectively lead paid or volunteer teams
• Proven competency in church or related ministry leadership, balancing music and administration within church culture, context, and relationships
