The Guest Services Coordinator will assist with overseeing a comprehensive ministry plan to ensure that guests, regular attendees and members are welcomed, encouraged and supported with a consistent, Gospel-centered guest services experience. The Guest Services Coordinator will interact with individuals with diverse spiritual backgrounds and should therefore demonstrate a vibrant and maturing relationship with Christ. Additionally, the Guest Services Coordinator will work closely with various ministries within Pleasant Valley and is expected to pay close attention to detail and handle sensitive information appropriately. Assisting with the oversight of the Guest Services Ministry Partners will be a primary responsibility of the Guest Services Coordinator. This will include the following: Parking Lot Attendants, Exterior Door Greeters, Hosts, Global Café, Worship Center/Chapel Door Greeters, and Worship Center/Chapel Ushers. Guest Services is a “fluid” ministry and requires an individual who is adaptable and flexible in their routines. This position requires someone with a relationship with Jesus Christ who is loyal to the mission/vision/leadership of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. This individual will be expected to be able to work Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings and some Saturday evenings.


1. Ensure a culture of exceptional guest services at PV
a. Works alongside staff, ministry partners, PVers and guests to help live out Romans 15:7 – “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”
b. During weekend services, Wednesday night programs and Catalytic Events, ensures that PVers, regular attendees and guests are welcomed, cared for and served.
c. Promptly responds to Guest Services related questions that are received verbally, in written form or via the website. Offer follow up communication as needed.
d. Be an active leader, working alongside Guest Services Ministry Partners during weekend services, Wednesday night programming and Catalytic Events.
2. Ensure guests have every opportunity to begin the next steps process at PV
a. Works closely with the Next Steps Coordinator to ensure that the guest/assimilation process is seamless by providing intentional direction for people to move into formal Next Steps programs/environments (Explore, This is PV, Baptism, Membership, Community Groups, serving, etc.)
b. Oversees PV’s Survey for Service to ensure the web form is accurate and functional. Directs inquiries from the completed web forms to the appropriate staff leader.
c. Collaborates with Next Step Partners to identify uniquely powerful stories of life-change and introduce those stories to the Communications Team.
d. Ensures the Next Step Center is maintained with the necessary materials needed to assist ministry partners and guests including updated information and first-time guest gifts.
e. Maintains the communication process and partners with the Children and Student ministries to ensure that all first-time, second-time and out-of-town guests are followed up properly and entered into the church database.
f. Oversees the processing of and follow-up communication for all weekend response cards.
g. Oversees and deploys the 6-week first time guest follow-up communication campaign strategy.
3. Equipping and Leading Guest Services Ministry Partners
a. Work with the Director of Church & Community Engagement to develop and deploy the Weekend Ready Email, a communication that occurs each week in order to prepare Guest Services Ministry Partners with important information for the upcoming weekend.
b. Work with Guest Services Team Leaders to coordinate periodic training (quarterly leadership meetings and seasonal fire drill/emergency evacuation meetings).
c. Assist with establishing yearly objectives for Guest Services ministry plan and willingly seeks accountability to accomplish those objectives.
4. Global Café Administrative Support
a. Provide leadership support to the Ministry Partners who oversee the following Global Café Teams: Scheduling/Guest Experience, Inventory and Ordering and Money Counting. Always seeking opportunities to welcome additional ministry partners’ participation.
b. Clear communication of which Local Compassion Outreach partner will receive the Global Café proceeds for a particular month.
c. Responsible for developing and maintaining budget for areas of oversight.
