Work with pre-K through fifth grade children.

Lead our church's effort to minister to children in our church and in the community, leading children to Christ and, in partnership with parents, making disciples of the next generation.

Oversee Sunday morning children's church ministry and Wednesday night AWANA program.

In consultation with other church leaders, define a vision for the children's ministry. Develop a ministry plan to achieve that vision.

Plan and oversee special events related to children and families, such as Vacation Bible School, Trunk or Treat community outreach, etc.

Supervise all volunteers who work with children from pre-K through fifth grade.


Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love children.

Adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 doctrinal statement, and commitment to teaching within the doctrinal convictions of Hickory Valley Baptist Church.

A desire to teach and mentor children in Biblical truth.

Demonstrating consistent spiritual growth in faith and Christian character.

Ability to pass a background check.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A commitment to the ministry of Hickory Valley Baptist Church.

The ability to recruit, train, supervise, and lead volunteers.

Maintain good communication with the pastor of Hickory Valley Baptist Church.

Minimum of 2 years' experience working with children in a local church.
