Job Description:
1) A shepherd for the congregation.
a. Lead, teach, protect, equip, love, and be an example to the church (1 Pet. 5:1-3; 2 Tim. 4:2-3; Eph. 4:11-12; Acts 20:28).
-Be known by the congregation.
-Actively involved with MBCL’s Discipleship and Outreach priorities.
-View congregational singing as a pastoral function before it is a musical one.
-Respond to pastoral issues with discernment.
-Strong verbal communicator.

b. Plan and lead weekly services with other pastoral staff.
-Understand and thoughtfully arrange the various elements of congregational worship: songs, prayers, Scriptures, exhortations, ordinances.
-Oversee and lead singing portion of services and special events.

2) A skilled leader for the music and production team.
a. Lead team toward servanthood.
b. Lead team toward undistracting musicianship and production.
-Skilled as a vocalist and instrumentalist.
-Able to lead in a variety of musical styles.
c. Recruit, disciple, develop, and empower new musicians, worship leaders, and tech volunteers.
-Able to discern and handle various attitudes and aptitudes.
d. Lead weekly rehearsals efficiently and pastorally.

3) A team player on staff.
a. Humble, willing to listen and learn from others.
b. Adaptable, willing to change course on short notice.
c. Shares ministry responsibilities as needed.
d. Celebrates others and their initiatives.
e. Maintains positive, loyal relationships with those inside and outside the church.
f. Collaborates with leaders from other campuses.
g. Carries out the overall vision of corporate worship at MBCL.

Godly character and devotion as befitting an elder (1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9).
Demonstrable pastoral and leadership gifts.
Demonstrable vocal and instrumental skill.
Philosophical and doctrinal alignment with MBCL leadership.
Passionate about the MBC vision and developing leaders.
Proven track record in ministry and discipleship of others at a deacon or elder level.
Experience with resources like as Planning Center, ProPresenter, and CCLI.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Executive and administrative skills preferred.
Experience in multi-site churches preferred.
Experience in multicultural music and ministry preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience in leading worship preferred.
Songwriting and recording experience a plus.
