Job Summary:
The Children’s Pastor/Director provides direction and oversight for the entire North Valley Church Children’s Ministries (infant-5th grade). North Valley Church offers full children’s programming for two services on Sunday mornings and programming for Wednesday evenings.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Children’s Pastor/Director provides leadership, training, support and oversight to all Children’s Ministry staff, including a part-time “Wee-Rock” assistant (infant-4k) and Children’s Ministry volunteers
• The Children’s Pastor/Director works closely with the Senior and Associate Pastors and is responsible for the implementation and development of programming for spiritual formation of children and equipping parents to fulfill their calling as primary spiritual leaders of their children
• Provide vision, strategy and development for all Children’s Ministry environments (infant-5th grade)
• Provide leadership, direction and training for all Children’s Ministry Staff Members
• Review, purchase and oversee the implementation of all curriculums for the Large Group/Small Group teaching environments
• Recruit and oversee all early childhood volunteers providing leadership, training and appreciation
• Oversee childcare for Family Ministries and all-church events as directed including, but not limited to, productions, meetings, etc.
• Responsible for check-in procedures and tracking weekly attendance
• Event Planning – plan extracurricular events, community outreach, camps, vacation bible school, etc.
• Meets regularly with the Senior and Associate Pastor to discuss ministry strategy and effectiveness
• Partner with Student Pastor to plan and execute transitions from elementary to middle school and middle school to high school student ministry
• Prioritizes programs, manages the use of facilities and plans budget
• Sets and evaluates ministry goals in line with NVC vision
• Attends weekly staff meetings

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
• Active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude and behavior
• Meets Biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership
• A passion for children’s ministry and to see families grow in their faith together
• Previous experience the direction and administration of a children’s ministry, including leadership of staff members and/or 50+ volunteers
• Basic understanding of “Orange” Family Ministries (Think Orange, The Essence of Orange. Reggie Joiner) a plus
• BA or BS in Children/Family ministries or similar
• Experience in recruiting, motivating, equipping and scheduling volunteer leaders to minister to children and families
• Experience in designing and developing children’s ministry programs
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
• Ability to reach out and connect with families involved with North Valley Church Early Learning Center
• Competency with basic computer software (Excel, Word, etc.), and the capacity to learn new software
