Pastor of Students and Children’s Ministries

Purpose:
To provide direct ministry and collaborative leadership to the junior high and senior high school students of Lewis Lane Baptist Church according to the Mission, Vision, Core Values, Constitution, and Policies of the church.

Priorities:
1. To supervise all ministries to students that is not led by a pastor.
2. To lead spouse and children in the regular, consistent attendance of worship and Bible studies
3. To work with the lead pastor in developing, implementing, and supervising a discipleship/mentoring ministry.

Areas of Supervision:
1. High School Students and lay-leaders
2. Junior High Students and lay-leaders
3. Discipleship/mentoring leaders

Skill Set:
1. Must meet the Biblical qualifications of a pastor found in 1 Timothy 3.
2. Self-motivation, team-building, trust, positive attitude, people skills, and a desire for continuous improvement.
3. Must be able to teach adolescent and adult-level content while inspiring listeners.
4. Must be able to counsel students and parents on normal issues (i.e. premarital/marital counseling, grief counseling, issues of sexual sin, and problems with children).
5. Will visit prospects and follow-up with new attenders.
6. Will provide accountability and counsel for lay-leaders under your supervision.
7. Will design, plan, and execute activities, worship services, retreats, camps, mission trips, and projects regularly that balance students’ spiritual and social needs.
8. Will execute other pastoral and ministry activities per lead pastor’s discretion.

Requirements:
1. Testimony of personal salvation, baptism by immersion, and specific ministry calling and experience in a Baptist church and adherence to the Baptist Faith and Message.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in a ministry-related field, but a Master’s degree is preferred. Exceptions to education requirements can be made based on other verifiable education, degrees, and experience.
3. Normal work week, flexible observation of office hours, church attendance per lead pastor’s approval, attendance at staff meeting, and mentoring appointments with the lead pastor.
4. This position reports directly to the lead pastor.
