Introduction
Dr. Bobby Welch is a past president of the
Southern Baptist Convention (2004-2005), and the former pastor of First
Baptist Church in Daytona Beach, Fla. Under Dr. Welch’s leadership,
FBC Daytona Beach strongly supported the Cooperative Program as a channel
of Southern Baptist support for national and international missions and
ministries, he led his church to a missions-minded awareness both in going and giving.
He believes in supporting cooperative missions through the Cooperative Program
and the two national missions offerings. He also led members of his congregation
to experience the rich blessings of "going" to other places to
do missions.
Dr. Welch is also widely known as the founder of the FAITH Sunday School Evangelism
Strategy
Dr. Morris H. Chapman, president of the Executive Committee, said Dr.
Welch is the “Southern Baptists’ ambassador to those leaders
in other countries who are interested in building relationships as likeminded
brothers and sisters in the Lord.”
