Meeting the needs of children is one of the most important ministries at Faith Baptist Church. It's in a child's early years that lifestyles and personalities are molded. The influence we have on a child can change their life forever. It is our goal that all children who enter our doors be shown the love of Christ and the quality care of loving adults.
The purpose of the college/Career & Single Adult Ministry is to fulfill the vision Statement of our Church, which is to love God supremely and love others sacrificially by fulfilling the Great Commission. Our desire is to see adults within this particular area of ministry become dedicated followers of Jesus Christ by which they are growing and sharing their faith. We plan to fulfill this desire by providing: Age appropriate Sunday School classes 8:28 - College & Career Bible Study on Wednesday nights at 8:28 pm Praise & Worship Ministry & Missions Opportunities Conferences & Retreats Fellowships Accountability Groups
Our goal through our Music Ministry is to fulfill our mission statement of our church, which includes passionate worship and a fresh encounter with God each Sunday. We are committed to teaching our children and youth the music and musical skills that will enable them to become active participants or leaders in worship. Our Adult Drama Team works to bring life and art together to enhance our worship. Sermon-starter skits to full-blown musical dramas add visual elements that speak to hearts and encourage true praise.
An atmosphere of love and genuine caring can be found in the Nursery and Preschool areas at Faith Baptist Church. Our young children are special, and we strive to provide the best care for them in a secure, warm and friendly place.
Recreation is a ministry tool at Faith to reach new families for Christ and provide quality opportunities for Christian fellowship, exercise, and instruction. With our new recreational complex, Buckhead Creek, we are able to provide even more opportunities to our members and the community as well. Buckhead Creek Recreation Complex with four lighted baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, a concession stand, children's playground, event pavilions and a lake for fishing is an excellent facility for outdoor sports and recreation. This facility is open to the public as a community ministry of Faith Baptist Church. Soccer - Soccer season begins in August of each year and is the fastest growing sport in the Mid-South. Faith sponsors children and youth teams in the Shelby Baptist Association. A Micro-soccer league for ages 4-7 offers developmental instruction. Sign-ups for 2004 is Sunday, June 6.
Senior Adults are our leaders - our pillars of faith and strength. We look to our Seniors for their "tried and true" devotion to Christ and to His ministry at Faith Baptist Church. We follow in their footsteps and are inspired to "Keep the Faith."
Why Should I Go To Sunday School? Because you need a place where everybody knows your name. We love for people to attend worship services, but Sunday School is where close relationships are formed. True learning requires involvement, interaction and application. Sunday School offers involvement with God's Word, interaction with others, and application to your Monday morning. What Do You Study? Most of our classes are involved in direct Bible Study, taking a portion of scripture and discovering its application for us. What If I Don't Know Anything About The Bible? You don't have to! You don't have to read anything, find anything, or quote anything if you don't feel comfortable doing so. Can I Ask questions? Please Do! While a few of our classes are more lecture oriented (some people enjoy that), all of our Bible study leaders want your input and participation.
