First Baptist Church is located in the Heart of Georgia, Gray, GA - Jones County. Over 100 years old, FBC Gray has a rich history of lives being changed through the gospel message. We are located in a bedroom community of Macon, GA. Our vision and goal is to "Find Jesus. Give Jesus". Vision 2019, we are continuing our 2018 mission of being FOR JONES COUNTY, we are taking it an extra step. This year, we ask, "Who's your one?" We Believe… The Bible is the Word of God - In accordance with II Timothy 3:16 and II Peter 1:21, the Bible was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as a supernatural revelation of God. The Scriptures as originally given are “God-breathed” and contain no mixture of error. Salvation is by Grace Alone - In accordance with Ephesians 2:8-9, we are saved by God’s grace at the point of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Man is sinful and does not have the ability to save himself. Good works do not contribute to salvation. However, in accordance with James 2:14-17, our faith will be evidenced by good works, obedience, and the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). The Believer is Eternally Secure - In accordance with John 10:27-29 and Romans 8:38-39, individuals who have been truly saved can never lose their salvation. When saved people sin, their fellowship with God is interrupted, but never broken (I John 1:9). Likewise, those who do not trust Christ in this lifetime will spend eternity in hell (Revelation 21:8). In the Priesthood of the Believer - In accordance with I John 2:1 and Hebrews 4:14-16, Christ Himself is our Advocate and High Priest. We have no need for human intermediaries because the blood of Christ has made each believer a child in God’s own family. Therefore, we have direct access to God in confession, prayer, worship, and through His Word. Baptism is by Immersion for the Believer - In accordance with Matthew 28:19-20 and Romans 6:3-5, baptism is done in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is not a means of salvation, but it is the believer’s symbolic identification with the death and resurrection of Christ. True baptism is by immersion as an act of obedience, and it is reserved for persons who personally express faith in Christ as Savior and Lord. Church Government is Congregational - In accordance with Colossians 1:18 and Acts 13 and 15, Christ is the Head of the church. Under His direction, First Baptist Church of Gray is Pastor-led, Deacon-served, Committee-functioned, and Congregationally-approved. The congregation, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is the most basic unit of church government.

The Preschool Ministry of First Baptist Church exists to provide a secure, nurturing environment for preschoolers where Biblical truths are taught as a foundation for salvation and Christian living. We believe that preschoolers begin to learn about God and His love for us from their first years of life. Therefore, while you enjoy your time of Bible study and worship, your preschooler can enjoy his/her own classes taught by loving, responsible workers in a fun, safe, and age appropriate environment. When Jesus presented the Great Commission (Matthew 26:20) to His disciples, He challenged them to share the Gospel with the entire world. God sent His Son on a mission of reconciliation and now His church should be sent on a mission of proclamation. At First Baptist Church, we do not take the commands of our Savior lightly. We view missions through an Acts 1:8 perspective, where Jesus states, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Our first goal is to reach the community of Gray where God has placed us. However, we also work to reach our state, our nation, and our world so that all may see Jesus.
Music and Created Arts are led by Pastor Logan Brasher The Music & Worship Ministry of FBC is committed to the local congregation. Our hope each week is for the church to be reminded what we know to be true: that God sent His Son into the world to redeem lost sinners. Our singing together prepares our hearts to hear and respond to the Word of God. Our philosophy of worship is three-fold: 1. Scripture-saturated & Christ-centered The contents found in the Word of God are the best inspiration for congregational singing. The music we sing together will reflect God’s Word in totality. 2. Musically singable & fine-tuned Our music will be conducive to large-group singing and not just for the trained elites. We will sharpen our skills while at the same time preparing our hearts, recognizing that the music we sing and play is an offering. God deserves the very best in our offerings to Him. 3. Evangelistic & edifying The gospel is always relevant. For those who have yet to receive Christ, our music will present the gospel as an evangelistic tool so that lost sinners might come to repentance. For those who have been in a relationship with the Lord for some time, singing the gospel again reminds us of God’s immaculate grace and our dire need for a Savior.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 Christians have been given the task of caring for the fatherless – what does that mean for FBC? In November of 2010 FBC began its Adoption/Orphan Care Ministry Emphasis by introducing various options of becoming involved in adoption and orphan care. We recognize that not every family is called to adopt, but we do believe that every Christian is called to embrace adoption in however God calls them. Below are some agencies First Baptist has partnered with to provide avenues to embrace adoption and become an adoption-missional church. If you have an questions about this ministry or how to get involved please contact Mrs. Laura Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or 478-986-3098, ext. 5
Small groups are the places were you can come be part of a community that will care for you and challenge you in your walk with Christ. This is a great opportunity to connect with other believers on a more personal level and develop friendships that will be with you through life's ups and downs. It is also a time for you to grow spiritually and gain more understanding about God's Word as you discuss topics that are relevant to your life. We have groups meet that at 9:15 A.M. and 10:45 A.M. every Sunday and are open to anyone. We offer a wide range of groups for every age and range of life. *For more information you can contact Laura Wright at 478-986-3098, ext. 5 or email@example.com
