Clyde's Chapel Baptist: More than a church on a corner, a church that cares.
Year Founded: 1889
Average Attendance: 120
The Baptist Men of Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church is a very mission-minded group of Christian men. We meet the second Sunday morning each month to discuss and plan various mission activities and fundraisers necessary to support our mission activities. All men of the church are invited to join us on Sunday mornings and to participate in our activities including Mission Serve, disaster relief and local home repair.
The GAP (God Answers Prayer) Mission Group came together to meet the needs of the ladies in the group, the needs in our church, our community and to assist the mission fields around the world. We have worked with the Coventry House Assisted Living, given donations and supplies and had fundraisers for many causes. Our group would like to invite any lady that would like to visit our group. We meet the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in homes or the Fellowship Hall at church.
Women on Mission I (WOM I) meets at 1 p.m. the 2nd Wednesday of the month, usually in the Fellowship Hall. Different Ladies are hostess each month. After refreshments and fellowship, we have our meetings. We open with a prayer for guidance and blessings as we have our meeting. Routine has reading of the minutes of the last meeting, treasurer’s report, sick list and prayer for the sick. We then have our Scripture reading, list of birthdays of the missionaries, discussion of the Scripture and prayer. Business is discussed next, as well as new or old projects. Donations are taken each meeting to help with needs that may surface. If someone has an article for discussion or information, we listen to those and act upon them if necessary. We support with money the Special Offerings the church has. We also promote, along with the other groups, the Samaritan’s Purse, the Heck-Jones WMU offering, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, the Red Sox Ministry for Women Prisoners, Baptist Children Homes, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, and Cooperative Program. At Christmas we take names from the Christmas Tree at Archer Lodge Middle School and buy gifts for them. We are enjoying helping make pillow case dresses for the girls in the orphanages in Haiti. Once a month we prepare and serve the Wednesday night meal before Bible study. We help the Baptist Men with their Fundraising events, help with the Relay for Life Fundraisers and at the car show and golf tournament. With help from the other ladies in the church we prepare and serve a meal on the day of a funeral for the family of the deceased. We are few but large in effort. We invite anyone who is interested in missions to come join us.
Women on Mission II (WOM II) meet on the second Sunday of each month in the Fellowship Hall at 4:00 pm. We welcome any woman of any age to join us as we meet to grow in our faith, support each other in our daily Christian walk, support the church in its mission, and pray together for local, national and global missions and needs. To encourage our growth, we meet for book studies of the Bible. Some of our mission projects include the Ronald McDonald Room at Wake Med Hospital, backpacks and school supplies for local schools, meals for community and church families, and support of various mission offerings. We look forward to being God’s hands and feet to His children. Please feel free to join us.
