Avon Park is a small city located in Highlands county. The city's location, the availability of abundant land, its rolling hills and abundant beautiful lakes destines the area for development. First Baptist Church, Avon Park, was established over a 100 years ago, but it is not an old-minded church, but a progressive church with progressive attitudes toward evangelism, missions, and community ministry.

10:45 am - The Sunday morning worship is a time for the church to come together to fellowship and worship together. Our morning service includes a blend of praise and worship and hymns. Music is a very powerful and important part of our preparation for hearing the Word of God and responding to the touch of God through His Holy Spirit. In addition to our adult worship in the worship center. we provide specially developed worship experiences for our preschooler and children in children's church and our older children in a junior church worship experience. These worship experiences teach our children about worship and how to participate.
06:00 pm - The Sunday evening service is a time to DIG DEEPER into the Word of God. We encourage a family atmoshere so that we can come together as the body of Christ to worship the Lord and hear from Him.
06:00 pm - Mid-week services meet throughout the campus and for all age groups.
A comprehensive Children Ministry that provides for training in Bible study, worship education (children's church and junior church) discipleship, music education, and missions education. In addiiton to weekly training the Children's ministry provides annual events like the Great Pumpkin Hunt, Thanksgiving emphasis, Easter emphasis, R.A. pinewood derby, indoor soccer and recreation, CentriKid Camp, R.A.'s, G.A.'s and Music camps experiences
Disaster Relief Ministry
First Baptist Church, Avon park is involved inthe Florida Baptist Convnetions arm of the the Southern Baptist Convention's Disaster Relief ministry. We have a trained mass feeding unit team on call and ready to operate a Florida Baptist Convention owned mass feeding unit capable of feeding 20,000 people a day and a clean-up and recovery team ready to operate a fully equipped clean-up and recovery trailer.
A comprehensive middle school and high school ministry that includes Bible study; blended and contemporary worship; worship leadership; choir; praise band; missions education, recreation programs at the family life center; DiscipleNow weekend; and summer camps including Centrifuge, World Changers, and mission trips.
