"Come Grow with Us" Pleasant Valley North has grown in recent years from 150 people to over 600 in celebrative worship on Sunday mornings. WE love to sing praises to God and study HIS WORD. Our services are designed for everyone to enjoy. Even if you have never been to church before, here you will find friendly folks who love Jesus and really care about other people. We are learning how to grow closer to God in a personal relationship and, with His help, deal with the many struggles of life. We invite you and your family to get involved in worship and Bible study as well as exciting weekly ministries for all ages. Pleasant Valley North is a place where.... * There's celebration in worship * The Bible is preached * Jesus Christ is exalted * The Holy Spirit leads * The family is honored * People are accepted and appreciated * There is something for everyone "Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together." Sunday evenings (August - May) from 5:45 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. This wonderful ministry for children age 2 through 5th grade is really growing. The children learn Bible verses each week and enjoy snacks, games, and more! This ministry provides a solid foundation for moral and spiritual development.
Just before the offering on Sunday mornings, children are invited to Children's Church. Dedicated adult and youth teachers lead this special time of worship for children. The two different groups (ages 4 & 5, and grades 1 through 3) provide smaller, more interactive learning environments that are age-appropriate.
Many young adults are leaving church and their faith behind when they graduate from high school. At PVN, we want to put an end to this trend. Converge is a community that gathers each Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Student Center for real worship, real truth, and real relationships. We also offer various ministry options, and the opportunity to go deeper each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. If you are a college student/single adult, this is your place to belong.
At Pleasant Valley North, our music is celebrative and enthusiastic. It serves to encourage people to praise the Lord and prepare our hearts for the Pastor's message. Our music is blended with both traditional hymns and more contemporary praise choruses. On Sunday mornings we use additional instruments to accompany the piano and keyboard. It is our desire in worship for each individual to experience the love, joy, and peace of God as we praise His glorious Name. Adult Choir: Rehearsal on Wednesdays from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the sanctuary. Directed by our Minister of Music, Jason Coffman, the choir leads our Sunday morning worship, and provides special music. Children's Choirs: 2nd through 5th grades are led by Marsha Coleman and Susan Baker. Age 4 through 1st grade are led by Jamie Richey. Rehearsal is on Wednesdays from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. Toddler Choirs: 2 & 3 year olds are led by Linda Coffman and Joan Blackwelder. They meet on Wednesday from 6:45 - 7:45 p.m. Special Music: Solos, duets, and so forth are an important part of our music ministry. If you would like to participate, see our Minister of Music. Drama Ministry: We like to use drama occasionally in our worship services. Also, drama is often an important part of our seasonal choir musicals.
We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord, and we are committed to having a strong children's ministry. We offer quality childcare with clean facilities and a well-staffed nursery. Childcare is provided on Sunday mornings and evenings, Wednesday evenings during prayer service and adult choir practice, and for all other church functions.
At PVN, we believe middle and high school students are worth a significant investment. We have three weekly programs to help students navigate life. Each group meets in the Student Center. High School and Middle School groups meet each Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. - high energy! Small Groups meet Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. Neighborhood meets Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m. for ministry and discipleship.
Sundays at 9:45 a.m. We have classes for all age groups. We believe studying the bible is necessary in becoming more like Christ. The children learn more about living God's way.
From Downtown Rome, take Highway 27 North to Mount Berry Square Mall. Turn left on Old Summerville Road. Drive approximately 1.5 miles. The church will be on the left.
