ANCHORED IN THE SHADOW OF THE CROSS
Westport Baptist Church has been since its beginning a church on the cutting edge of ministry. This fellowship has endeavored to provide programs and services in this community beyond just the normal church existence. Today is no different than the past, from the Trunk or Treat, an alternative to halloween, to our ever expanding Weekday Education Ministry; from a dynamic praise and worship ministry to comprehensive, Bible based, discipleship training and Sunday Bible study. From the youngest to the oldest, Westport strives to meet the needs of real people in a real world with real solutions.
The theme for our church, “anchored in the Shadow of the Cross”, reminds us of the main reason we’re here, to share the saving power of the Cross of Jesus with a lost world. Anchored in that same cross is this fellowship, believing that Jesus is our sure foundation and that no matter what comes our way the anchor holds because Jesus is holding the anchor.
