What is CIA’s? Children In Action is an exciting and fun-filled missions education organization, sponsored by WMU, for children in grades 1-6, we include Kindergarteners too! CIA Members: • Explore and participate in mission action projects. • Pray for the world and missionaries. • Learn ways to demonstrate Christ's love to others. • Gain a greater understanding of God's work in the world and being part of His plan. • Learn how they can be used to tell others about God's Son, Jesus. • Receive a foundation for coming to faith in Christ as Savior and make missions an important part of their daily lives.
Men on Mission's is a group of men whose regular meeting is held the first Wednesday night of each month at 6:30 p.m. The meeting consists of a devotional service followed by prayer and discussion of mission projects that need to be done at church member's homes and other areas of the community. Projects include trimming shrubbery, cutting grass, transportation and building handicap ramps as well as other jobs as the need arises. Another major project is the staple non-perishable food drive around the holiday season in the fall. Normally we go out to breakfast as a group, once a quarter. The men's mission group also periodically sponsors projects such as fish fry's, barbecues, or other projects to include the entire church. We are looking for more men to be involved in this mission oriented group. We invite you to join us. Ray Helms, Men on Missions Director
We are thankful that we have the opportunity to be the leaders of missions in our church. Our mission purpose: 1- Pray for and give to missions 2- Do missions 3- Learn about missions 4- Develop spiritually toward a mission lifestyle 5- Participate in the work of the church & denomination Under the WMU umbrella, we at Lee Street have two Women on Mission groups. Both groups participate in main mission offerings, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, Myers-Mallory State Offering, World Hunger, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, and the Children’s Christmas mission’s program in August. We also work on the Samaritan’s Purse Project at Christmas, as well. We generally have a “Mission Action Project” in addition to the other offerings. We always want to give thanks to our Lord for the great support of the church family with these projects & offerings – We couldn’t do it without their love and support. We are blessed and praise the Lord for such a wonderful WMU. Peggy Clinansmith, WMU Director
